A Weekend at Historic GeerCrest Farm

in association with Homer Davenport Days in Silverton

Saturday August 7 – 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday August 8 – 10 am to 5 pm

GeerCrest will be open for two days filled with family-friendly activities to celebrate the world famous cartoonist, Homer Davenport, whose grandparents settled the farm in 1848.

Live Music:
Silver Creek String Band

Take tours of the historical and working farm
   
Exhibits on Homer Davenport and the Geer Family
   
Meet Davenport Arabian Horses — including the
new foal, Nadia.
   
Spinning and knitting demonstrations
(Sat Aug. 7, 10am - 1pm; all day Sunday)
   
Local plein-aire paintings on display of the Farm
   
Play pioneer games, enjoy refreshments, and
much more!

Our booth at Coolidge-McClaine Park during Homer Davenport Days offers information about the farm and the opportunity for children to make their own butter, which they can eat on locally made bread.

Don’t miss the free shuttle ride from Coolidge-McClaine Park in Silverton to GeerCrest Farm. You may also drive to the farm by car to join the celebration of local history in the Waldo Hills.

  Historic Silver Falls Days
presented by Friends of Silver Falls State Park

Saturday July 10 – 10 am to 4 pm
Sunday July 11 – 10 am to 4 pm

South Falls Lodge in Silver Falls State Park

This new event will showcase demonstrations, exhibits, and activities regarding the history of the Silver Falls region. GeerCrest Farm & Historical Society will have an informational booth at the event where we will have our butter churning activity for children.
